Currently available:

  1. “Gas Rescue Services at Industrial Facilities”.

This book looks at how gas rescue services are organized at various industrial facilities, the operational procedures of gas rescue units during accident response, safety measures for emergency rescue and other gas rescue operations carried out using gas protection equipment, and the responsibilities of the company's personnel when an accident response plan is put into action. It provides a description of gas rescue equipment, primary and auxiliary technical equipment and gear, methods for its use and inspection, and rules for operation and maintenance. Characteristics of hazardous chemical substances (HCS), means of monitoring and protection against HCS, first aid for HCS poisoning, procedures for conducting search and rescue operations in the event of a (spills) of HCS substances and other man-made emergencies, procedures for performing standard techniques and rescue operations as part of a gas rescue unit (team, shift), regulations on duties when using gas protection apparatus and special equipment, etc. 

  1. “The Mine Rescue Manual” (in two parts)

Part 1 includes: a brief glossary of terms used by mine rescue teams; a historical overview of the development of mining and mine rescue operations; and an examination of the organization and functioning of the State System for the Prevention and Response to Emergencies (SSPRE) in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the legal framework for organizing mine rescue services for underground and open-pit mining operations, the organization of operations by professional emergency rescue (mine rescue) units during accident response and the rescue of people in suffocating atmospheres, and the duty schedule and tactical training of mine rescuers.

Part 2 provides practical guidance on how to properly conduct search and rescue operations during emergencies and on survival in emergency situations, and includes detailed information on methods of providing first aid to victims and on the medical and psychological training of mine rescuers.

 

  1. “Mine Rescue Training Course.”

The book describes the technical equipment used by the Professional Emergency Rescue Service (PERS), methods for its use and inspection, procedures for performing standard techniques in specific drills and rescue operations as part of a mine rescue unit, and regulations governing the use of gas masks and specialized equipment. The book draws on experience in the use of mine rescue equipment and the performance of emergency rescue operations by PERS units in atmospheres unsuitable for breathing in mines, quarries, and hazardous industrial facilities on the surface, in accordance with the requirements of the industry-specific “Regulations on the Organization and Conduct of Emergency Rescue Operations,” “Industrial Safety Rules for Underground Operations,” and “Guidelines on Tactics for Mine Rescue Operations in Mines and Quarries.”
